Time to mention marathon Runners! It’s all those running the London Marathon, 26th April, and the Morrison’s Great Manchester Run, 10th May.
See all about them below!
Thomas Clare and Melonie Crompton will both tackle the London Marathon.
Jen Cunningham, Trish McManus, Lynne Glicklich, sisters Gemma and Hannah Burton, Jake Moore and family will all run the Manchester 10K
We’ve included more on why they all are running below, and also their donation links.
Thomas Clare will be running the London Marathon, in memory of his Dad Peter, who the family lost to MND in 2010, after a four year battle.
Thomas aims to crack the Marathon in under four hours, and we wish him well.
Melonie Crompton will also be running the London Marathon, in support of one of our Branch members. If Melonie hits her target of £1,000, she will run the Marathon dressed as Wonder Woman, brilliant!
Jen Cunningham will be running the Manchester 10K in memory of Ita Myers, who was taken by MND. We have included Jens own words about Ita:
‘Ita was a wonderful, gentle, kind and generous woman’
Trish McManus will also be running the Manchester 10K, in loving memory of her Uncle Ray. We are delighted that Trish wants to raise funds for the branch, so please add a comment when donating, so we know it’s especially for Trish. Thank you also from us Trish for asking as well.
Hannah and Gemma Burton will also be tackling the Manchester 10K, in loving memory of their Dad Rob. Their Dad would have been 50 this year, and they are marking this by running in his memory. Thanks to Hannah for asking us to mention it!
Another runner for the Manchester 10k, and it’s Lynne Glicklich, who is tackling the 10k in support of our Branch member John Boulton, his sons sister in law. John and the family come to all our branch meetings, and we are sure on behalf of everyone at the branch, we all wish Lynne the best of luck.
The latest addition, and it’s from Jake Moore. Jake will run with his dad, uncle and cousins, in memory of his Uncle Andrew. A fantastic family effort, and Jakes aiming to raise £300, or even try and beat his target!
To all those running in support of the MND Association, a massive Thank you from us all at the Branch.
